i am currently in salamanca spain, and i have just realized that i have to go to paris because my plane ticket back to the states leaves from paris. I have tried looking for a cheap ticket from madrid to zurich, and that way i could jsut go home, but i cant find it with an airline that lets me take 5 months worth of my life in luggage without charging an arm and a leg. so i am going to paris, as it were, by force, not by choice. but i want to make it worth while. i have to leave here in only 4 days, i´m thinking of taking a train from salamanca to madrid, then madrid to paris. it takes about 14 hours. its a ¨hotel train¨. its sounds awful, how can i make my experience worth while?

Air Europa (UX) serves Salamanca Matacan Airport (SLM). They might be able to get you to Paris (PAR) through some other point like Palma Mallorca (PMI).
Otherwise, before heading to Madrid, I recommend checking flights from Valladolid (VLL) which is closer. Direct flights to Paris are available by Air Europa (UX), Air France (AF) and Iberia (IB).
From Madrid (MAD), you can check with the following airlines: Aerolineas Argentinas (AR), Air Europa (UX), Air France (AF), AirMadrid (NM), Easyjet (U2), Iberia (IB) and Vueling Airlines (VY).
By train, you don't have to go to Madrid. Rather, you can take train D310 departing Salamanca at 12:05am (5 minutes past midnight) to arrive in Henyade at 7:10am, then you take a TGV train to arrive in Paris around 1:45pm-2:10pm, depending on the train available. Henyade is the first city in France if you come from Spain close to San Sebastian.
You can also depart from Salamanca at 10:30am on train 410 to arrive at 5:07pm in Henyade, then take TGV train to Paris to arrive around 11:15pm-11:56pm.
Through Madrid, there's only one convenient trip which takes few hours more than the trips through Henyade. For this trip, you should depart to Mardid at 3:50pm on train IR8904 to Chamartin station arriving at 6:15pm, then take train EN407 at 7pm arriving in Paris at 8:27am or 10:35am, depending on the day you are travelling on.
