I am surprised. When I went to the statue in 2007 the marshal said it would never open again. I asked him why this was and he said it was for health and safety and fire regulations. To adhere with these they would only be able to let 4 people up every hour and this just was not financially viable.

The article says that 30 will be let up every hour which goes against what he told me. Maybe as a one off, 30 an hour is acceptable..
